One of the seven elements of an effective compliance program is training and education. The OIG various compliance guidances suggest a minimum training on preventing fraud & abuse, as well as additional training in areas of high-risk.
The Fraud & Abuse course should be considered mandatory for all private practice therapy staff (clinical and non-clinical) and the four “mini-modules” target areas of high-risk in outpatient therapy and are designed with the clinician and biller in mind.
